Up Highway 6 From the Grand River
Caledonia sits south of Hamilton in Haldimand County, and drivers there can book detailing, tint, ceramic coating, wraps or paint protection film at our Ancaster studio. We are open weekdays by appointment. Reach us by phone or email to set a time, then leave the car with us for the work.
Caledonia grew up on the Grand River where the old Hamilton to Port Dover plank road crossed it, and Highway 6 still links the town to Hamilton.

What Caledonia Driving Does to a Car
Highway 6 and the bypass
Highway 6 skirts the town on the Caledonia Bypass, a two-lane freeway that opened in 1983. In town, the old route is Argyle Street, which meets Haldimand Highway 54, called Caithness Street locally, by the Grand River. North of town, Highway 6 continues past the Hamilton airport on a section opened in 2004 and reaches Highway 403.
Haldimand County winter roads
County crews clear main arterial roads first, then secondary roads, then residential streets, and the County says it can take up to 24 hours to finish every plow route once snow or ice stops. Some passes are salting or sanding only. Highway 6 itself is a provincial highway, which the province plows, salts and sands.
Country roads
Haldimand bans on-street parking on rural roads through the winter period and applies winter parking restrictions from November 15 to April 15. Rural driving brings gravel shoulders, farm traffic and summer dust, and all of it ends up on the lower half of the car.
Our road salt guide covers what to do between visits.
Common Questions
Do you serve the rest of Haldimand County?
If you are in Caledonia, you can request a quote and arrange a drop-off appointment at our Ancaster studio. For other Haldimand towns, call us at 365-336-3767 and ask whether we can help with the work you have in mind.
Will a coating stop rust on a truck that sees salt and sand?
No coating makes a vehicle rust-proof. A ceramic coating helps paint shed contaminants and makes washing easier, which helps you keep salt off the finish. Underbody rust protection is a different job.
Can I wait at the shop while the work is done?
No. We work from a private space with no waiting area, so plan on leaving the car. If you need a vehicle in the meantime, see rentals.
